Have a system installed by another company?

Yes. Takeovers are a major part of our service work. You may have purchased a home with an existing system, lost access to the original integrator, inherited incomplete documentation or reached the point where repeated short-term fixes are no longer reliable.

We start with the system that is actually in the property. The assessment can include equipment condition, processor and software access, network health, programming, wiring, rack layout, account ownership and available documentation. When practical, we preserve equipment and infrastructure that still serve the project well.

See how Control4 service and takeovers work

A takeover may involve:

  • No usable system documentation
  • Unknown passwords or account ownership
  • Failed processors, remotes or touchscreens
  • Old programming that no longer matches the home
  • Rooms, cameras, shades or audio added later
  • Network problems affecting every connected system
  • Discontinued hardware or compatibility limits

Why Boca Raton and waterfront systems develop problems

South Florida properties create conditions that generic troubleshooting can miss. We look at the whole environment around the system.

Concrete and large floor plans

Concrete, impact glass, multiple levels and detached structures can weaken wireless coverage and expose weak network design.

Heat, humidity and salt air

Outdoor equipment, poorly ventilated racks and coastal exposure can shorten equipment life and create intermittent failures.

Power and internet changes

Outages, surges, provider equipment changes and new routers can break remote access, cameras, automation and streaming at once.

Seasonal occupancy

A Boca home must remain manageable when the owner is in New York. Remote visibility and a serviceable network matter when the property is unoccupied.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

How Sentry handles a service request

Tell us what failed

Provide the property location, system or brand, symptoms, when the problem started and anything that recently changed.

Choose the right assessment

We determine whether the next step is focused troubleshooting, an on-site diagnostic visit or a broader takeover survey.

Receive a clear path forward

After diagnosis, we explain what can be repaired, reused, reprogrammed, expanded or selectively replaced.

Test and document

We test affected functions, explain operating changes and identify priorities that can improve long-term reliability.

One service partner for the connected property

A Control4 or Savant problem may actually begin with the network. Camera access may fail after router changes. Lighting, shades, gates, audio and climate can all depend on the same control and infrastructure layers. Sentry can evaluate these systems as one scope instead of sending the owner between unrelated vendors.

Our work includes smart-home control, Lutron lighting and shades, enterprise Wi-Fi and networking, surveillance, Brivo and access control, alarms, home theaters, distributed audio, outdoor entertainment and structured cabling.

Licensed local support after the installation

Sentry Audio Video, LLC is a family-owned technology contractor led by Brian Zeidman. The company operates under Florida low-voltage license EF20001874. Local service matters because the useful life of a connected property is longer than the first installation. Networks change, software evolves, equipment ages and the owner’s needs expand.

Service is available for existing systems, renovations, new construction, retrofit work and properties changing ownership.

Service & repair FAQs

Do you work on systems installed by another company?

Yes. Sentry evaluates and takes over systems installed by other integrators. We begin with the equipment, wiring, network, programming access, account ownership and documentation available at the property. The assessment determines what can be repaired, reused, upgraded or should be replaced.

Do you service Control4 systems in Boca Raton?

Yes. Sentry handles Control4 programming, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, expansion and takeovers in Boca Raton and throughout South Florida. Visit the Control4 service and takeover page for platform-specific information.

Can you upgrade an older Control4 system to OS3 or X4?

We can evaluate the processor, controllers, interfaces, drivers, network and connected equipment to determine the appropriate upgrade path. Compatibility and project scope vary, so the recommendation follows an assessment rather than a blanket promise that every older component can remain.

Can you reuse my current equipment?

Often, yes. Reuse depends on equipment condition, compatibility, programming access and whether the existing design can meet the property’s goals reliably. We explain the tradeoffs before recommending replacement.

Do you offer emergency or same-day service?

Availability depends on the day, location, technician schedule and nature of the problem. Call (561) 717-3280 and explain what is affected so we can identify the soonest appropriate next step without promising availability before the issue is reviewed.

What should I include in a service request?

Include the property location, system and brand names, symptoms, when the problem began and any recent internet, power, equipment or account changes. Photos of the rack, devices, wiring and error screens are useful when available.

Can you repair Wi-Fi problems that affect the smart home?

Yes. Automation, cameras, audio, streaming and remote access depend on the network. We troubleshoot access points, switching, routing, cabling, equipment racks, roaming and coverage, including concrete homes and multi-structure properties.

Do you service cameras, alarms and access control?

Yes. Sentry works on surveillance cameras, recorders, remote viewing, alarms, access control, Brivo, gates, intercoms and the network infrastructure supporting those systems. Some equipment may require replacement because of condition, compatibility or support status.

Do you work in condominiums, businesses and managed properties?

Yes. Sentry supports custom homes, condominiums, commercial properties and managed buildings. Access, scheduling, property rules and coordination with management should be provided when the request is submitted.

Can the same company handle automation, lighting, cameras and networking?

Yes. That coordinated scope is one of the reasons owners call Sentry. Treating the control platform, network, lighting, audio-video, surveillance and access systems together helps identify the actual cause and reduces conflicting work between separate vendors.
