Upgrade an original RadioRA or RadioRA 2 installation with a plan for the complete home. Sentry Audio Video assesses existing Lutron systems, supplies replacement equipment, installs and programs the approved upgrade, and tests lighting scenes and compatible integrations. We serve Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and New York through our four office areas.
Find the Right Route to RadioRA 3
Start with what is installed, what still works and what you want to improve. A new processor alone does not define every upgrade. We review dimmers, switches, keypads, shades, fixtures, project files and any connected Control4, Savant or Crestron system before proposing the scope.

Original RadioRA and RadioRA 2 Need Different Reviews
Original RadioRA: plan replacement by device and room
If your home has the original RadioRA generation, identify the model numbers before using any RadioRA 2 compatibility guidance. We treat this as a legacy-system replacement assessment: map the circuits, controls, keypad functions and wiring, then specify the appropriate current devices. Equipment reuse is confirmed item by item rather than assumed from the RadioRA name.
RadioRA 2 to RadioRA 3: retain compatible devices where practical
Lutron documents a RadioRA 2 project-conversion path to RadioRA 3. Supported devices can remain, while the main repeater and Connect Bridge functions move to the RadioRA 3 processor. Some installed products and programming features require replacement or rework. We check the current Lutron compatibility guidance against the actual inventory and project file before quoting.
RA2 Select or an unidentified system
Send equipment photos and tell us what you can currently control. RA2 Select, RadioRA 2 and original RadioRA should be identified separately; the migration scope follows the exact equipment and available records.
What Your Upgrade Proposal Should Include
- Existing-system inventory: controls, repeaters, shades, room names and known problems.
- Keep-or-replace schedule: compatible devices to retain, replacements and optional room expansions.
- Lighting review: fixture and driver information, LED dimming performance and any required electrical work.
- Programming: keypad actions, scenes, schedules, app setup and functions requiring manual recreation.
- Integration: review supported drivers and configuration for connected automation systems.
- Commissioning: test the agreed room functions and provide homeowner orientation and updated records.
Repair, Phased Upgrade or Whole-Home Modernization?
An unreliable keypad or dimmer does not automatically justify replacing an entire system. We first establish the fault and your goals. A focused repair may suit a home that otherwise works well. A planned upgrade may be appropriate when you want current controls, additional rooms, coordinated shades or a renovation-wide lighting scope.
For a finished home, review wall finishes, control locations and access before installation. For a renovation, coordinate lighting loads, power and pathways while the building team can still make changes. Any phased approach must preserve a workable lighting plan during the transition.
What to Send Before the First Conversation
Include your city, property type, approximate number of controlled rooms, system age if known, the issues you want corrected and your preferred timeline. Equipment photographs and existing project records help us prepare. Have the installed system reviewed before resetting controls or discarding programming information.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will every existing dimmer or keypad work with RadioRA 3?
Compatibility is model-specific. A RadioRA 2 system may contain supported devices as well as equipment requiring replacement. Original RadioRA needs its own replacement review.
Can you take over a system another dealer installed?
We assess systems installed by other companies. Programming access, equipment condition, documentation and the requested work determine the takeover scope.
Can the lighting still work with Control4 or Savant?
We review the connected platform, supported integration and programming needs as part of the upgrade, then test the agreed functions after installation.
