DEDICATED CINEMAS · PREMIUM MEDIA ROOMS · SELECTIVE MODERNIZATION
Give an existing theater a better picture, clearer dialogue, more controlled bass and simpler everyday operation. Sentry Audio Video plans and installs luxury home theater upgrades in Boca Raton and across South Florida, coordinating the room, equipment and controls as one system.
The project begins with what you want to improve and what is already installed. We assess the speakers, wiring, projector or display, screen, audio processing, amplification, sources and automation before defining what can stay. The proposal identifies the improvement, equipment, installation, programming and commissioning included in the work.

Choose the experience you want to improve
A more convincing cinema picture
Review projection or premium display options, screen selection, seating distance, sightlines and light control. We check the complete source-to-screen path before choosing equipment.
Sound with clarity and impact
Plan supported immersive audio, processing, amplification, speaker placement and subwoofer integration around the listening positions rather than only adding more channels.
A room that feels finished
Coordinate acoustic finishes, seating layout, risers, lighting and ventilation. Construction or electrical work is identified and coordinated with the appropriate licensed trades where required.
One understandable way to watch
Modernize remotes, touchscreens and supported control integrations so sources, sound, lighting and shades follow the household’s agreed viewing activities.
Projection and screens selected for the actual room
A larger image is only useful when the room supports it. We review screen size and format, throw distance, projector location, ambient light, seating and the existing mounting arrangement. Laser projection, screen materials and masking options can be assessed where appropriate. In a bright multipurpose space, a premium direct-view display may be a more suitable alternative.
The upgrade also needs a compatible video path. Sources, switching, extenders, cables and the display must support the selected operating modes. A resolution label on a new projector does not prove that old distribution equipment will carry the intended signal. We identify those dependencies before ordering and test the agreed sources after installation.
For narrower buying questions, see projector screen selection and projector versus video wall planning. The room assessment determines which approach fits your use, architecture and budget.
Immersive audio, processing and amplification
A theater should deliver understandable dialogue, a coherent surround field and bass that works across the important seats. We assess the existing receiver or AV processor, amplifier channels, speakers, subwoofers and wiring. Supported Dolby Atmos layouts depend on the room and the complete playback system; extra ceiling speakers alone are not a substitute for a coordinated design.
The scope can include selective speaker replacement, additional supported channels, separate processing and amplification, or a more deliberate subwoofer arrangement. Working equipment may remain when it can meet the agreed objective. We explain limitations that would prevent a proposed improvement rather than assuming every retained component is interchangeable.
Calibration follows installation. Channel operation, levels, distances, bass integration and listening positions are checked in the finished room. Room-correction tools, where supported by the selected equipment, are part of that process rather than a replacement for sensible speaker placement and acoustic planning.
Acoustic finishes, seating and architectural lighting
Hard surfaces, reflective walls and open adjoining spaces can limit performance even with excellent equipment. We review acoustic treatment and placement as part of the room design, including visually integrated panels or fabric finishes. Sound isolation is a separate construction problem from controlling reflections inside the room; its scope should be defined with the appropriate design and building professionals.
Seating positions, recline clearance, walking routes and screen sightlines are coordinated before committing to a layout. Tiered seating or a riser needs appropriate design and trade coordination. Lutron lighting and motorized shades can be integrated into supported viewing scenes, with practical lighting for entering, moving through and leaving the room.
Kaleidescape and supported cinema sources
A premium theater can include a dedicated movie system alongside streaming, live television and gaming. Kaleidescape player and server planning considers the exact existing components, storage, network and supported expansion path. Account access, content purchases and compatibility are reviewed separately from the installation scope.
We map the sources the household uses to the correct display and sound path. That includes checking the intended formats, control behavior and any requirements for audio returned from a television. Features and licenses depend on the selected products; the proposal confirms the supported configuration rather than promising every format on every source.
Control4, Savant, Crestron and lighting integration
A well-planned upgrade should leave the room easier to operate. We review Control4, Savant or Crestron control, including project access, remotes, source selection, lighting and shade scenes. Josh.ai voice control can be evaluated for supported tasks where appropriate.
The acceptance plan includes starting a viewing activity, selecting the agreed sources, controlling volume, changing modes and shutting the room down. The household receives a walkthrough of the functions actually delivered. Optional remote support, ongoing service and subscriptions are identified separately so the long-term responsibilities are clear.
A defined upgrade path, from assessment to handover
Assess and prioritize
Tell us what feels dated or underperforms. We inspect the room and equipment, identify reusable components and separate essential dependencies from optional additions.
Design and specify
The proposal records equipment, infrastructure, finishes, programming, trade responsibilities and the agreed performance goals. Phases are planned when the project is staged.
Install and commission
We complete the authorized installation, coordinate access and related trades, configure the system and verify the agreed viewing and listening functions.
Demonstrate and support
We walk the household through daily use and leave a clear route for support. Future changes begin with the documented installed system and accepted configuration.

The right service path for your theater
If the system has stopped working, start with home theater repair and takeover assessment. If you are building a new dedicated room or undertaking a major renovation, visit home theater design and installation. This upgrade service focuses on improving an existing cinema or media room.
We assess projects in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Miami Beach and surrounding South Florida communities. Provide the property location and any building access requirements when requesting a review. Other service-area requests are reviewed with the appropriate office.
Questions homeowners ask
Can you upgrade my theater without replacing everything?
Yes, when the retained equipment is in suitable condition, supported and compatible with the agreed outcome. We assess speakers, wiring, screen, projector or display, processing, amplification, sources and control before identifying what can stay.
Can an older theater be upgraded for Dolby Atmos?
We assess the room, seating, speaker positions, wiring, processing and amplification. The supported layout and scope depend on those conditions. Adding ceiling speakers alone does not establish a complete Atmos-capable system.
Should I buy a new projector before the assessment?
It is better to review the room, screen, throw distance, mounting, light conditions and complete video path first. A projector selected in isolation may not suit the existing screen or infrastructure.
Can you modernize Control4, Savant or Crestron theater controls?
We review the installed platform, available programming files, interfaces, network and supported integrations. The proposal identifies retained devices, changes and any software, license or access requirements.
Can the upgrade be completed in phases?
Often. We can define an agreed sequence for infrastructure, video, sound, acoustics and control. Each phase should have an accepted result and account for dependencies on later work.
How much will my theater upgrade cost?
Pricing follows a room and equipment assessment. The scope, retained components, access, wiring, finishes, programming and calibration determine the proposal. Request an assessment rather than relying on a generic package price.
