EXISTING THEATERS · MEDIA ROOMS · SYSTEM TAKEOVERS

Get your theater working as a complete system again. Sentry Audio Video provides home theater troubleshooting, repair assessments, programming and system takeovers in Boca Raton and across South Florida. We help with dedicated private cinemas and premium media rooms, including systems originally installed by another company.

If there is no picture, missing sound, unreliable source switching or a remote that no longer starts the room, the first step is to trace the fault. We review the display or projector, sources, audio processing, amplification, speaker connections, control programming and supporting network before proposing a repair. Optional upgrades are explained separately so you can choose the right scope.

What is happening in your room?

No picture or intermittent video

Black screens, dropouts, unreliable input changes, streaming-player problems and projector or display communication issues. We trace the source-to-screen path before recommending replacement.

Missing sound or poor dialogue

Silent speakers, missing surrounds, inconsistent volume, subwoofer problems and sound arriving before or after the picture. We check routing and operation before distinguishing repair from performance improvements.

The remote no longer runs the room

Unresponsive remotes or touchscreens, incorrect source selection, incomplete start-up sequences and lighting or shade scenes that no longer match the theater.

Inherited or unsupported installation

An unavailable original installer, incomplete records, a disorganized rack or equipment added over time. We establish a documented starting point and an owner-authorized support plan.

High-end theaters deserve a system-level diagnosis

A private cinema may combine a projector, motorized screen, AV processor, separate amplifiers, several subwoofers, a movie player and automated lighting. A single failure can look like a problem with the entire room. Our assessment follows the actual signal and control paths rather than assuming the most expensive component is at fault.

The review can include supported Dolby Atmos and surround-sound configurations, projector and screen operation, receiver or processor setup, amplification, source devices, HDMI distribution, ventilation and rack organization. The exact equipment and symptoms determine the work. We do not promise that every older format, discontinued component or undocumented integration can be retained.

For source-specific work, see Kaleidescape sales, upgrades and repair support. We evaluate player, server, network and theater integration together. Manufacturer repair, internal component work and warranty decisions are handled through the appropriate support process when required.

Control4, Savant and Crestron theater takeovers

The control system should help the household watch a movie without managing a rack of components. We assess the installed platform, remotes, interfaces, programming, source mapping and connected devices. If the previous installer is unavailable, we review project-file availability, account ownership and the access needed for the requested work. We use owner-authorized access; a takeover does not mean bypassing account security.

Platform-specific services include Control4 repair and takeovers, Savant service and upgrades and Crestron service assessments. Lighting and shade issues can be coordinated with Lutron lighting and motorized shade service where they are part of the theater.

How a theater service visit is planned

1. Describe the failure

Tell us which room is affected, what you normally press, what happens instead and when the problem began. Photos of the equipment and any visible error message are helpful.

2. Establish the cause and options

We evaluate the relevant equipment, connections, settings and control paths. The recommendation separates necessary repair, support limitations and optional modernization.

3. Approve a defined scope

The proposal or service authorization identifies the work, equipment if needed, access requirements and expected interruptions. Visit and assessment charges are confirmed before scheduling.

4. Test normal household use

After the authorized work, we verify affected sources, picture, sound, volume, start-up and shutdown. We explain operating changes and document the relevant settings for future support.

Repair what is failing. Plan improvements deliberately.

If the theater was never comfortable to use, replacing a failed item may not address the underlying design. We can identify a separate upgrade path for weak dialogue, uneven bass, light control, outdated video capability or an awkward interface. Existing equipment is evaluated for condition, support and compatibility before it is included in that plan.

For a planned improvement rather than an active failure, visit luxury home theater upgrades and modernization. For a new room or a major renovation, start with home theater design and installation. These are separate service paths so your request reaches the right assessment.

South Florida homes, estates and seasonal residences

Theater assessments are available in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Miami Beach and surrounding South Florida communities. Tell us about condominium access, concealed equipment, high projector locations or building rules when requesting an appointment. For another service area, use our office and service-area information to discuss location and scope.

A seasonal residence may also need an understandable support handoff for a caretaker or property manager. We identify the authorized point of contact and the normal way to request assistance. Monitoring or remote support is a separate scope where supported; it is not assumed to be included with every repair.

Questions homeowners ask

Can you take over a theater installed by another company?

Yes. We assess the installed equipment, wiring, network, account ownership and available project files. Owner-authorized access and editable programming files may be needed for particular control-system changes. The assessment defines what can be supported and what needs attention.

Do you repair the projector or receiver internally?

We diagnose the theater and its connections on site. If a component needs internal electronics work, optical service or a manufacturer repair, we identify the appropriate authorized service route or replacement option. Warranty eligibility and repair availability depend on the equipment and manufacturer.

Does a home theater repair mean replacing the entire system?

No. We separate the fault from optional improvements. Working speakers, cabling, screens, amplification and control components may be retained when their condition and compatibility support the agreed result.

Can you restore surround sound and unclear dialogue?

We can assess channel routing, speaker connections, settings, placement, subwoofer integration and room effects. Repair restores a fault; changes to acoustics or equipment are quoted separately when needed to meet the listening goal.

Do you offer same-day or emergency theater service?

Call to confirm the earliest appropriate appointment. Availability depends on the location, technician schedule, symptoms and equipment involved. We do not promise a response time before reviewing the request.

What should I send with a service request?

Include the city, equipment model numbers or clear equipment photos, what stopped working, when it began and any recent power, internet or equipment changes. Do not include passwords or security recovery codes in the form.

Request Home Theater Repair or a Takeover Assessment

Describe the fault and include the property city, system brands and any equipment changes. For an inherited system, tell us what documentation and owner-authorized access are available. Choose Home theater & audio video and tell us whether you need service, a takeover or an upgrade. We will review the request and contact you. Visit availability, assessment charges and project scope are confirmed before scheduling.
