Illustrative project design study. Architectural concept images show a proposed approach, not a completed installation.
The Challenge
Upgrading an existing waterfront estate requires balancing modern controls with finished interiors. Large glass openings can create afternoon glare, while separate lighting switches and window treatments make everyday operation unnecessarily complicated.
The Proposed Approach
This design study explores coordinated Lutron lighting and motorized shades, with equipment selected after reviewing existing wiring, lighting loads, window dimensions and control-system compatibility.
For living areas, Palladiom exposed-roller shades offer an architectural finish without bulky valances. Fabric selection would balance daytime glare reduction with waterfront views. Bedrooms would receive a separate privacy and blackout assessment—solar fabric alone is not a nighttime privacy solution.
The lighting scope would include fixture-compatibility checks, keypad placement and practical scenes such as Arrival, Entertain, Movie and Goodnight. HomeWorks or RadioRA 3 would be evaluated according to the property’s existing infrastructure and desired scope.
Installation Planning
Sentry’s proposed process includes documenting the existing system, field-measuring each opening, evaluating wired versus wire-free shades, planning service access and confirming responsibilities with the electrician and interior designer.
Design Objective
A coordinated lighting-and-shade experience that preserves the waterfront setting, simplifies daily control and limits disruption to finished interiors.
