Marine Networking, Yacht Wi-Fi & Internet Takeovers
Onboard network installation, yacht Wi-Fi upgrades, troubleshooting and takeovers in Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. Build a documented network for owners, guests, crew, entertainment and supported camera systems.
An Onboard Network Assessment
Sentry Audio Video reviews the router, switches, access points, cabling, internet equipment and connected AV or security devices. We map the existing setup and ask which areas have weak coverage, which devices lose connection and who needs administrative access. For a takeover, authorized access and available configuration records are checked before changes begin.
Yacht Wi-Fi Coverage & Wired Infrastructure
Plan access-point locations around salon and cabin layouts, deck areas, obstructions and the vessel’s construction. Equipment location, temperature, moisture and exposure are assessed before selection. We review Ethernet and fiber routes where applicable, test reusable cabling and identify PoE capacity and equipment-rack requirements. A dockside speed test alone does not establish coverage throughout the vessel.
Guest, Crew, AV & Camera Networks
Configure supported network separation and access rules for the agreed user groups and devices. The design can separate guest traffic from administration, cameras and automation while allowing necessary control functions. We review Control4, Crestron, Savant, Kaleidescape and other installed systems to avoid breaking discovery, streaming or supported integrations through an unnecessary network change.
Starlink, Cellular & Shore Internet Integration
Assess the available internet handoffs and the router’s ability to manage them. Starlink installation, compatible cellular service and shore connectivity can be incorporated into a defined plan. Availability, coverage and subscription terms remain provider-dependent. We explain which functions operate locally and which require an outside internet connection.
Automatic Failover & Traffic Priorities
Set a preferred internet link and compatible backup links with health monitoring. Configure automatic switchover and supported recovery settings, then test failure and restoration of each agreed connection. Traffic priorities may help protect selected work or communication needs while controlling guest bandwidth. Automatic switching does not guarantee uninterrupted active sessions or combine multiple links into one faster connection.
Network Repairs, Upgrades & Takeovers
Troubleshoot recurring disconnects, weak Wi-Fi, addressing conflicts, power issues and undocumented equipment. Retain useful components where condition and compatibility permit. The proposal identifies replacements, configuration changes, testing and handoff documentation. Owner and captain access, support contacts and a current equipment list form part of a clear takeover.
Service for Owners, Captains & Yacht Managers
For Fort Lauderdale and Boca vessels, we confirm marina or dock access, work windows and the onboard assessment scope. Share the current equipment list, reported problems, vessel location and planned departures. We can coordinate network work with the yacht’s AV, camera or Starlink installation so the systems are tested together.
Installation Questions
Can you service a yacht network another installer built?
Yes. We assess equipment, wiring, configuration and authorized access before preparing a repair, upgrade or takeover scope.
Do you work with UniFi networking?
We assess and integrate suitable Ubiquiti/UniFi equipment and other supported networking platforms according to the vessel’s requirements.
Can cameras and AV keep working if internet goes down?
Some functions may operate on the local network while remote access and cloud services require connectivity. We identify and test the agreed functions for the installed systems.
