URC Sales, Installation and System Upgrades
Sentry scopes URC equipment sales, installation, programming and training for new media rooms, home theaters, multiroom systems and replacement remotes. We identify whether Complete Control or Total Control fits the project, then confirm product availability, software access and supported equipment before ordering.
For an existing system, we review the remote, controller or base station, program and connected devices. The proposal explains what can remain, what needs replacement and whether a programming rebuild is required. New remotes and controllers are not assumed to be interchangeable with older equipment.
Request a URC sales or upgrade proposal. Include your city, current model if known, room count, desired equipment changes and timeline.
Complete Control and Total Control Need Different Service Plans
URC offers both Complete Control and Total Control systems. The model and installed architecture matter when planning programming, replacement or expansion. We identify the remote, control hardware, connected devices and available project records before confirming the required software access and support options.
This service is for professionally programmed URC equipment. A model number or clear equipment photo helps distinguish it from a generic universal remote and prevents an unnecessary service visit.
Common Reasons to Request URC Programming or Repair
- A new television or receiver no longer responds to the existing remote
- Watch TV or movie activities select the wrong inputs or leave devices out of sync
- Volume controls the wrong room or audio device
- Remote buttons, charging, communication or base-station behavior are unreliable
- Streaming equipment or a network replacement disrupted familiar controls
- A purchased home has URC equipment but no clear instructions or installer support
The cause may be programming, power, wiring, an emitter, network configuration or a connected AV component. We diagnose the system before recommending hardware replacement. Internal hardware repair and replacement parts depend on the model and availability.
Take Over an Existing URC Installation
When the original installer is unavailable, the first step is documenting the equipment and determining what programming and account access are available. Keep any original project files, equipment lists and prior service records. Missing files or unsupported hardware may change the cost and scope; we explain those conditions before proceeding.
A takeover can include updated activities, source labels, household training and a plan for future equipment changes. Diagnostic charges, programming responsibilities and replacement recommendations are confirmed before work begins.
Upgrade One Room or Plan the Whole Property
A focused theater or media room may need only revised controls. A larger renovation may justify reviewing multiroom audio, lighting, shades and the network together. Compare Control4, Savant and Crestron if your needs have outgrown the existing installation. We assess which equipment can remain and which changes would improve daily use.

Before You Book
Can you reprogram a URC remote for a new TV?
We assess the remote model, connected equipment, control method and available programming first. Those details determine whether a programming update, hardware change or replacement is appropriate.
Do I need to replace everything?
No. Compatible, serviceable equipment can often remain. We identify the cause and explain the options before specifying a broader upgrade.
