Security cameras provide visual evidence. Many properties need all three, but they do not have to be installed in the wrong order.
What access control solves
Access control replaces unmanaged keys with credentials, schedules, permission groups and event history. It is useful for offices, condominiums, amenity areas, employee entries and vehicle gates. Cards, fobs or mobile credentials can be removed without rekeying every door.

What an intrusion alarm solves
An intrusion alarm detects conditions such as a protected door opening, motion in a defined area or another connected sensor event. It can support a response process, but it does not show what happened and it does not manage routine authorized entry.
What security cameras solve
Cameras provide live and recorded views. They help verify activity, investigate incidents and review entrances, gates, parking, transactions and other important areas. A camera does not stop a door from opening, and a recording is only useful when the view, lighting, retention and time settings are correct.
Which should come first?
- Lost control of keys or gate access: begin with access control
- Need detection and a defined response: begin with an intrusion alarm review
- Need visual evidence or remote viewing: begin with cameras
- New construction or renovation: plan all three with the cabling before walls close
Integration works only when the foundation is right
