Protect the network behind the property

A home or business network carries more than internet traffic. Computers, phones, cameras, access control, automation and cloud accounts all depend on it. We review how those systems connect, who can administer them and how remote access is provided.

Sentry handles design, installation, configuration, service, upgrades and takeovers. The assessment gives you a defined plan for corrective work and continuing support, with the covered systems and response expectations agreed in writing.

Homes, estates and home offices

Plan access for household members, guests, staff and property managers. Review Wi-Fi, remote connections, personal devices, cameras and smart-home equipment without treating every user as an administrator.

Residential IT and home technology support

Businesses and managed properties

Review staff and guest networks, account ownership, remote access and the infrastructure supporting offices, restaurants, condominiums, HOAs and commercial properties.

Business IT services and support

Cybersecurity services Sentry provides

  • Firewall configuration: Review rules, administrator access, supported updates and connections into and out of the network.
  • Network segmentation: Separate guest, staff, camera, access-control and automation traffic using appropriate network boundaries and access rules.
  • Secure remote access: Configure controlled access for authorized users and service providers, with permissions suited to their responsibilities.
  • MFA and account setup: Configure multifactor authentication where supported and review administrator ownership and user access.
  • Endpoint protection: Configure protection for supported computers and devices within the agreed service scope.
  • Backups and recovery: Plan backups for agreed data and configurations, review retention and test recovery for the systems covered.
  • Security monitoring: Define which systems, alerts and events are monitored and who is responsible for reviewing and responding.
  • Incident response: Assess suspected incidents, help contain affected systems and coordinate recovery within the agreed response scope.

Coverage, monitoring hours, response timing, supported equipment and exclusions are specified in the proposal or service agreement.

AI cameras and video analytics—supported by a secure network

Sentry installs and services AI-enabled cameras and video analytics for homes and businesses. Depending on the selected camera and recording platform, useful features can include person and vehicle detection, line-crossing events, defined activity zones and event search.

We plan camera placement, lighting, recording, notifications and user permissions together. We also review the network carrying the video and the accounts used to view and manage it. Analytics capabilities are selected and tested against the actual equipment and property conditions.

Take over and secure an existing installation

If the previous provider is gone, start with an assessment of the equipment, available credentials, software support and network configuration. We identify what can remain, what needs correction and which accounts should belong to the property owner.

The work can include documenting switches and Wi-Fi, reviewing remote access, correcting shared administrator access, updating supported equipment and organizing the rack and cabling. Where infrastructure needs work, Sentry also installs and certifies Cat6, Cat6A and fiber optic cable.

What happens next

  1. Call or request an assessment. Tell us the city, property type, systems involved and whether this is preventive work, a takeover or an active issue.
  2. Review the environment. We assess the relevant network, equipment, accounts, remote connections and documentation.
  3. Approve the written scope. The proposal identifies priorities, corrective work and any ongoing responsibilities.
  4. Implement, test and document. We complete the approved work and hand over the relevant configuration and access information.

For suspected incidents, call to discuss the issue and arrange the appropriate response.

Cybersecurity and AI camera questions

Does Sentry provide cybersecurity for homes and businesses?

Yes. Sentry Audio Video provides cybersecurity and network security for residential and commercial properties. The work can include firewalls, network segmentation, secure remote access, MFA and account setup, endpoint protection, backups, security monitoring and incident response. We begin with an assessment and define the work and ongoing responsibilities in writing.

Can you secure cameras, access control and smart-home systems?

Yes. We review the network connections, administrator accounts, remote access and supported updates used by cameras, access control and automation. We can separate these devices from guest and business traffic where the equipment supports it. An existing installation can be assessed even when another company installed it.

Can you take over a network installed by someone else?

Yes. We assess existing firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, cabling and connected devices, then document available access and the problems that need attention. The plan identifies equipment that can stay, configuration changes and any replacements. Takeover work depends on access to the equipment and accounts and the condition of the system.

Do AI security cameras replace cybersecurity?

No. Video analytics helps identify activity in a camera scene, while cybersecurity addresses access to networks, devices and accounts. A camera with AI features still needs appropriate credentials, updates and network configuration. Sentry can coordinate camera analytics and network security as parts of the same property technology plan.

What happens if we suspect a cyber incident?

Call Sentry and describe the affected systems and what you have observed. We assess the agreed environment, help contain the issue and plan recovery, including account access, device configuration and backups where applicable. The response scope and timing are agreed for the incident; ongoing coverage is defined separately in the service agreement.
